The weathermen warned us about this "blizzard" that was supposed to come through our area, but how much do you usually trust your weatherman? As the time drew closer they weren't letting up on the predictions of 12-15" of snow. Jason traveled to Atlanta for work on Monday morning with the plan to come back on Tuesday evening. He sent me a text about 12:30pm saying they would be coming back that night. Great! I wanted to go to the grocery store to pick up food for the party so I could check that off the list. Monday night gave us a rain/snow/sleet mix, but I still went to the store. I couldn't believe it...the shelves were practically empty for produce, bread, milk, frozen pizzas, etc.
On Tuesday morning we had about 2 inches of snow on the ground.
All the schools around here were closed including ISU so Drake and I were spending the day at home. Jason went to work in the morning, but they closed the office at noon. Then, about 2pm the snow started coming down! The wind was so strong that the snow was blowing sideways. The dog couldn't get outside so Jason had to shovel a little path for her. Drake was so cute trying to touch his hand through the sliding glass door.
It snowed all night and pretty much everything (schools, mall, restaurants, businesses) are closed today. Here's what it looks like now.
Thankfully it's done snowing now, but we haven't seen a plow on our street yet. Hopefully one will come tonight so we can get out tomorrow! We're supposed to have Drake's 1 year and family pictures taken.
