FYI - Be sure to watch the catalina machine when shopping at Meijer. I have gotten a coupon for $5 off a $50 Meijer Gift Card many times, and this week was one of them! I know I'm going to spend $50 there so I always take advantage of it and buy the gift card. Why pass up saving $5?

Yes...we really were at Meijer 4 times this week! It wasn't planned that way and it is not normal, but we had Colin's dedication this week and I forgot a couple things and then realized we were out of dog food. This totally destroyed the budget, but hopefully we'll be back on track for a while.

This was one of those weeks where there were some really great deals and I had to try really hard to stay under budget! It's definitely hard to balance buying when there is a good deal and your stock pile is low versus just buying because it's a good deal (even when you don't need it).

This was kind of an expensive week at CVS, but I picked up two packs of diapers, wipes, and 2 gallons of milk. I was also able to use the gift card I purchased here as well as the coupon I got here. 

Meijer: OOP $50.83, Saved $25.31

Yes...I spent my entire budget at Meijer this week. And, I really didn't get much, but I hate not taking advantage when P&G/Meijer has a Spend $40, Get $10 offer especially when we are in need of dog food. So, I ended up getting a box of diapers there, too, which I never do.

Walgreens: OOP $7.93, Saved $13.12

I made it there on Friday for the Friends & Family discount, but they were out of the Finish dishwasher tabs and the Complete contact solution...which I figured they might be. I didn't have time to run to another store, so I just got the rest of the stuff on my list and went about my night.

Aldi: OOP $2.70

Lettuce, baby carrots, and sour cream...not too bad. I'm starting to really like shopping at Aldi, especially for produce!

Jewel: OOP $0.79, Saved $10.40!

I don't shop here much, but the University discount ended on Saturday and I had a catalina to use up. Unfortunately, there wasn't another catalina promotion to keep it going. It's been a great couple weeks!

I haven't been to Aldi in a while, but I have been watching their ads...especially for produce. I got strawberries for $1.50/lb, red grapes for $.79/lb, bananas for $.44/lb and bread for $.89. Some of their items are definitely more than I can get them for with a sale and/or coupon at my other stores so you have to be careful. 

Meijer: OOP $55.85, Saved $58.81!

A little over budget, but not bad considering it was another dog food week...that stuff's expensive! :-) I was also able to score some great deals on a few fall clothing items for Drake and the new baby - paid $29, saved $80!

Love some super cheap Kleenex - 16 boxes...$.29 each! One thing I have realized is that Target's receipts aren't a true representation of the savings. It doesn't take into account how much the store has already marked down the item. For example, the Kleenex boxes were originally $3.29, but they were clearanced down to $2.54.

 Meijer: OOP $19.00, saved $29.75!

Aldi: OOP $15.65
 This was my first time shopping at Aldi's. There some things I needed to make a dessert this week and I didn't have coupons so I thought I would try them out. I was suprised at how many name brand items they had in the store. You definitely have to watch the prices...milk was $.18 more than Meijer when on sale, but eggs were $.30 cheaper.  I don't like not knowing how much I saved, but I know I got some deals. :-)
