Today is a pretty big day at our house. Not only does it mark halfway in this pregnancy, but we also got our big ultrasound today. The baby is still measuring about 5 days ahead, weighing in at 14 ounces! Everything looked great - brain, kidneys, heart, stomach, etc. We saw the baby sucking and bringing one fist up to it's face. I am still amazed that I don't feel the baby moving around in there considering how active he/she is. Thankfully, the baby did cooperate when the tech was trying to figure out the sex.
The tech got lots of great pictures for us. We had two envelopes...one with pictures showing us the sex and one that she wrote the sex. After the ultrasound was over, we went to the store and picked out two outfits - one for boy and one for girl. The sales associate opened the envelope and put the outfit that matched the gender in a box. We had it gift wrapped and then went to dinner. At dinner, Jason opened the box with the outfit to tell us both the gender! It was so exciting...I was so giddy!! I'm sorry that I can't share the sex just yet.

Also, you must be feeling the baby move and just not realize what it is, won't be long and you'll definitely be getting kicked hard!:)
I was so excited for your ultrasound today because I thought we were going to find out the sex. About halfway through the day I remembered that you weren't telling anyone until the showers, and I was totally bummed :) I'm glad you guys know, that's the best part! Hope the 2nd half goes as good as the first.

oh my god that is the cutest thing i've ever heard! i'm so envious that you know, we'll be twenty weeks next wednesday and our ultrasound is the following friday, so excited! i'm surprised you haven't felt any movement yet, it certainly doesn't feel the way people told me it would, it has been described as fluttering, but it feels more like gas!
Yay for a good u/s, but boo for teasing us about the sex! I can't wait to hear what you're having! I also haven't felt anything yet, though I think I may have an anterior placenta. I'm so anxious to start feeling movement! Congrats again!
